All the Reform congregations in Rockland celebrated together
on Friday night, January 11 the first annual Founder’s Day service.
All four Rabbis, all four Cantors, and well over four hundred congregants
used a service created especially for this occasion that included excerpts
from various Reform prayerbooks since the 1850’s. The Cantorial selections,
augmented by a large combined choir, sung settings for the liturgy
mirroring the sequential structure of the service.
It is hoped that this celebration of Reform Judaism,
our roots, our development, our present, and our future, will take
place on an annual basis. |
